Askey appointed president of NAPA Auto Parts
NAPA Auto Parts announced the appointment of Dan Askey as president. Askey, who assumes the post on May 1, brings a deep understanding of both the industry and NAPA, having spent the past 32 years working in various roles within Genuine Parts Co. and their Automotive Parts Group. GPC is a NAPA member company.
In this role, Askey will report directly to Paul Donahue, U.S. Automotive Parts Group president, and serve as NAPA’s primary spokesperson for the aftermarket industry. He also will oversee several sales responsibilities, including NAPA AutoCare, Major Accounts, Systems Selling Group, IBS and Latin America.
“Having spent his entire career excelling within the GPC Automotive Parts Group, Dan is uniquely qualified to take on the role of NAPA president,” Donahue says. “We are pleased to have him assume leadership of NAPA and look forward to his continued success within our organization.”

California teen takes another Idaho win during RMCS at Meridian
MERIDIAN, Idaho — The California kid must be in absolute love with Idaho.
Jeremy Doss, a 15-year-old race-car driver from Upper Lake, Calif., made it 2-for-2 on the state’s racetracks with an impressive victory in the NAPA Auto Parts Treasure Valley 100 on Saturday night at ASA-sanctioned Meridian Speedway .
Doss, who won at Meridian as a 14-year-old in 2011, jumped on the final green flag to win his second CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series feature in as many starts with the regional series this season. Dating to the 2011, it was Doss’ third feature victory in the Gem State.
“It feels great,” Doss said after taking his second checkered flag in his second career RMCS start.
In other feature races from Meridian’s Saturday night, Kuna, Idaho’s Casey Tillman found redemption with his first Pepsi Sprintcars win of the season; Larry Hull III drove to victory in the Pit Stop Drive Thru Mini Stocks; and Sledgehammer, driven by Nampa, Idaho’s David Jolley, won the wet and wacky 20-lap Thunder Dogs main.
